"The Welsh people are friendly and accommodating. The beautiful city of Cardiff is affordable... The International Office team have also been wonderful and supportive. This is a beautiful experience I will not forget."

Studying in Wales
Getting a good education has always been seen as vital to us in Wales. What's been described as Britain’s first university was set up by St Illtud in the village that took his name Llantwit Major (Llanilltud Fawr in Welsh) on the coast of the Vale of Glamorgan in as early as the 6th Century.
Today, education is just as important to us. We have around 1900 state schools educating children between the ages of 5 and 16. Many of these offer education for 16 - 19 year olds alongside further education colleges. We also have a number of private fee-paying schools located across the country. These usually enrol a significant number of overseas pupils and provide a full curriculum of academic subjects.
Our further education colleges have close links with industry and provide high quality simulated work environments for workers to improve their skills. Deeside College in north Wales has advanced technology facilities which trains workers for the nearby Airbus factory, and Barry College in south Wales has created a specialist training centre with British Airways Aircraft Maintenance.
International students from over 100 countries have come to study in our universities and institutes of higher education - including the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Over 8000 international students are currently enrolled in higher education in Wales.
